July 14, 2020 - "On the Bookshelf" review of Fighting Auschwitz - WTBF radio host Dave 'Doc' Kirby reviews Fighting Auschwitz for his podcast "On the Bookshelf," calling it an "amazing account of the resistance movement among the political prisoners at Auschwitz," and "powerful testimony to the courage and resourcefulness of the resisters." April 5, 2019 - Fighting Auschwitz wins SILVER AWARD in Ben Franklin Awards competition! - Thrilled to announce that our newest release, Fighting Auschwitz: The Resistance Movement in the Concentration Camp by Jozef Garlinski, has won the Silver Award for History in the 2019 Benjamin Franklin Awards, the premier awards competition in independent publishing. There were more than 1,500 entries this year.
"This is an extremely important book which should be part of all Holocaust and WWII collections. March 19, 2019 - Fighting Auschwitz Finalist in INDIE Book of the Year Awards - Wow, just learned that Fighting Auschwitz is also a finalist in the 2018 INDIE Book of the Year Awards in the category of Adult Nonfiction/History. The INDIE Awards are sponsored by Foreword Reviews as part of its mission to discover, review and share the best books from university and independent publishers. Winners will be announced June 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. Read the press release...
March 18, 2019 - Fighting Auschwitz Finalist in Ben Franklin Awards - We're excited to announce that Fighting Auschwitz by Jozef Garlinski has just been named as a finalist for the 2019 Benjamin Franklin Award in the category of History. Winners will be announced in a ceremony held in Chicago the evening of April 5, 2019.
Now in its 31st year, the Benjamin Franklin Awards, sponsored by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), is the premier awards competition in independent publishing. There were more than 1,500 entries this year.

December 6-9, 2018 - Boston, MA - 2018 ASEEES Convention - Aquila Polonica exhibited at the 2018 convention of the Association for Slavic, East European & Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) for the ninth year in a row. It was a great opportunity to showcase all our titles (including our newest release Fighting Auschwitz), meet old friends, and make new ones! November 30 through December 2, 2018 - Chicago, IL - 2018 NCSS Conference - Once again, the American Council for Polish Culture organized and manned the Polish Perspectives booth at the Annual Conference of the National Council for the Social Studies. More than 4,000 teachers attended, and browsed more than 250 booths. As in past years, Aquila Polonica donated several copies of each of its titles (including our newest release, Fighting Auschwitz) for the Polish Perspectives booth, which were given away to teachers before the Conference's end. September 28, 2018 - Fighting Auschwitz just released! - Just released in hardcover and trade paperback: Fighting Auschwitz: The Resistance Movement in the Concentration Camp by Jozef Garlinski. "The definitive study of the topic," says Prof. Antony Polonsky, Emeritus Professor of Holocaust Studies, Brandeis University, and Chief Historian, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, Warsaw, who wrote the Introduction.
