Captain Witold Pilecki and the Resistance Movement in Auschwitz
Ottawa, Canada
November 2, 2014

Poster-PileckiEventNov2-Email-rAward-winning actor, writer, producer and director Marek Probosz and Aquila Polonica president Terry Tegnazian rounded out their weeklong Canadian tour with a presentation of their two-person multimedia program about Captain Witold Pilecki and the resistance movement at Auschwitz at an event sponsored by the Polish Embassy in Ottawa and the Polish Combatants Association (Stowarzyszenie Polskich Kombatantów w Kanadzie). Mr. Probosz did dramatic readings from Aquila Polonica's award-winning book The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery, while Ms. Tegnazian did transitional narration accompanied by projected photographs, maps and three short video segments.

The event attracted a full house at Dom Polski in Ottawa, including many members of the diplomatic corps from various countries. The venue offered professional stage, lighting and sound, which enhanced the presentation. Professor Patryk Polec, Department of History, University of Ottawa, moderated the event. The presentation was followed by audience Q&A, and a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception. Magdalena Skowron, from Rogers Cable, taped an interview Mr. Probosz after the event, for later airing.
