May 13, 2011 – Nelson County, VA – Alice Waydenfeld Faintich addressed a Nelson County book group, at its Friday evening dinner meeting, about her father Dr. Stefan Waydenfeld’s book The Ice Road: An Epic Journey from the Stalinist Labor Camps to Freedom.
Alice reports: “They were so interested that I had to phone my husband to run my laptop over so that I could run my presentation for them…they were very interested in the stuff about the historical background and the coincidences…They also enjoyed hearing my father’s voice.”
Alice has created a terrific PowerPoint presentation, with plenty of images and maps, to accompany her discussion of The Ice Road. She hasAlice Faintich presented in numerous venues, including as a panelist at the 2010 Virginia Festival of the Book, at a University of Virginia class, and at bookstores and book groups.
